ECG
The ECG, or electrocardiograph is used to assess electrical activity of the heart. The ECG is used to investigate and rule out other medical conditions with symptoms similar to thrombosis, such as a heart attack.
This test is performed at the emergency department or outpatient Cardiology clinic and takes about 10 minutes. Adhesive pads are stuck onto the skin of the chest area to measure the electrical activity of the heart.
The ECG is a very low risk procedure.
